中伝立膝業 Chuuden Tatehiza Waza ("Middle Order Half-Kneeling Techniques") are intermediate iaido forms executed from the uniqe posture called tatehiza, which is an archaic (and somewhat uncomfortable) half-kneeling position used by samurai while wearing armor. These forms tend to be more defensive than the Shoden Seiza Waza.
